November 13th - Confluence and travel

I started the day way too early, but I couldn't get back to sleep.

After having breakfast, I drove to Confluence Point State Park which is where the Missouri flows into the Mississippi. It is also where Lewis and Clark started their trip west.
It was very windy, so I left quickly, after getting a few pictures.

On my drive I saw some people taking pictures with huge lenses. I guess they were looking for birds.

My next stop was Fort Belle Fontaine. This was Lewis and Clark's last stop before returning to St. Louis.

I saw a dear on the way to the fort, but it ran away before I could take a picture.

I went back to the hotel, finished packing, checked out, and drove to the airport.

Everything went smoothly. Southwest has a weird way to check in. There are no assigned seats, you board in the order you checked in (I think).

The flight was a bit bumpy. We landed early, but it took a long time to get to the gate.

Dana picked me up and we went home.
